heel pain Solution– shock wave treatment

High intensity shock wave treatment is the best solution for treating the painful condition known as plantar fasciitis or heel pain. Before you consider surgery known as the EPF which has a lengthy recovery process and a wide array of potential risks and complications consider our shock wave treatment with a 90+% 1st time treatment success rate. This procedure is non-invasive and has minimal risks.

ESWT Procedure

At Mid-Ohio Foot & Ankle Specialists our ESWT procedure by far out-performs the alternative invasive surgical option called endoscopic plantar fasciotomy (EPF) which requires 4-6 weeks off work and carries a high risk for complications. With our shock wave therapy you are getting better every day without missing work and only a slight decrease in some high impact activities for a few weeks to allow the tissues to properly heal. Low impact activities such as walking, cycling, swimming are allowed immediately after the procedure.

flat foot correction – hyprocure stent

Many people have the flat foot deformity from birth and most do not have any symptoms. For the ones that do have aches and pains we offer a wide array of treatment options to resolve your foot and arch pain. If conservative therapy consisting of inserts, padding, shoe gear change or strengthening exercises is unsuccessful in treating the conditions the doctors at Mid-Ohio Foot & Ankle Specialists offer a solution to correcting the condition called the hyprocure implant. This re-aligns the rearfoot and corrects the flat foot permanently.

when compared to the traditional open procedure that makes a 1-2 inch incision over the top of the foot and after releasing the ligament the nerve is then removed. the complications include infection and most commonly a stump neuroma or return of the neuroma symptoms. you will be back in a shoe in 4-6 weeks and off work around the same amount of time.
with cryo surgery you are back in your shoes in 3-5 days and back to work in 1 week and the nerve is still intact telling the muscles and blood vessels what to do with no chance of stump neuroma which would require another surgery.

The Power of Orthotripsy and Stem Cell Combination

Combining Orthotripsy (ESWT) with Umbilical Cord Stem Cell Therapy is the ultimate “1+1=3” strategy in regenerative reset. In our Total Kinetic Reset, this combination doesn’t just treat the injury—it creates a high-velocity healing environment that “aged” bodies simply cannot produce on their own.

Think of it as the difference between just planting seeds (Stem Cells) and tilling, fertilizing, and irrigating the soil (Orthotripsy) before the seeds arrive.

1. The Synergistic Mechanism: “Fertilizing the Soil”

Orthotripsy uses acoustic shockwaves to create “biological micro-trauma.” This isn’t damage; it’s a wake-up call for the tissue. When followed by stem cell therapy, the results are exponentially better due to three key factors:

  • Neovascularization (The Irrigation): Orthotripsy increases blood flow by up to 230%. This ensures the injected stem cells have the oxygen and nutrients they need to survive and thrive.

  • Stem Cell Homing (The Magnet): The shockwaves trigger the release of SDF-1 (Stromal Cell-Derived Factor-1). This protein acts as a “homing beacon,” pulling the injected umbilical cells directly into the micro-tears of the ligament or joint.

  • Membrane Permeability: The acoustic energy temporarily increases the permeability of local cell membranes, allowing the secretome and exosomes from the stem cells to penetrate deeper into the damaged tissue.

2. Clinical Advantages for the 50–70 Age Group

For the patients who are “averse to surgery,” this combination addresses the two biggest hurdles of aging tissue: poor blood supply and dormant repair signals.

Treatment Component Primary Role Effect on a 65-Year-Old
Orthotripsy Mechanical Activation Breaks down scar tissue and "shouts" at the body to wake up.
UC-Stem Cells Biological "Day Zero" Capital Provides the young, aggressive "builders" to do the work.
Combined The Reset Rapid pain relief followed by structural reconstruction.

3. Our Message

“Orthotripsy clears out the ‘junk’ scar tissue and opens up the blood vessels. Then, our ‘Day Zero’ Umbilical Cells move in to rebuild the foundation. By doing both, we aren’t just masking the pain—we are mechanically and biologically resetting the joint to a younger state.”
